Most people have never been an intended parent before, so you’re naturally going to have questions. What follows are some of the most common questions potential intended parents ask us about gestational surrogacy.
Gestational Surrogacy FAQs for Intended Parents
Q: Will I Have to Pay All of the Surrogacy Fees at Once?
A: No, you will not have to pay all of the fees at once. The first payment will be made once the surrogate agency contract is signed. Once the match has been made between you and the surrogate and the surrogacy contract is signed, the remainder will be due then. The money will be held in an escrow account and payments to the insurance agency, reproductive specialty lawyers and gestational surrogate will be made from the escrow account.
Q: We have a family member who we would like to use as our surrogate. Can we still work with Surrogacy Agency in Massachusetts?
A: Of course! We will provide you and your family member with the same legal, medical, and financial guidance we provide to all of our intended parents and gestational surrogates.
Q: We do not live in the United States, but wish to use a gestational surrogate who is located in the U.S. Does the Surrogacy Agency in Massachusetts work with international clients?
A: We do! We have experience working with intended parents from all over the world and would be delighted to work with you as well.
Q: What level of communication will we have with our gestational surrogate?
As part of the matching process, the case managers at Surrogacy Agency in Massachusetts speak with both the gestational surrogate and intended parents separately, to determine their preferred involvement level. In order to ensure that both parties have the best possible experience, only parties that prefer the same level of involvement will be placed together. We find that taking this extra step to ensure compatibility in this area both decreases the potential for stress and increases the enjoyment of everyone involved.
